In 2016, Florida passed an amendment allowing the use of medical marijuana. However, last year, the legislature passed a law banning the use of smokable medical marijuana. “The laws, signed by Florida Gov. Rick Scott in June, say patients can use cannabis through vaping and in food, oils, spray and tinctures.” Many fought against this law, specifically two women suffering terminal illnesses whose lives have been prolonged due to the use of smokable medical marijuana. The ban has been appealed and the ruling will be imposed by the Florida’s Department of Health.
