Juveniles Sentenced to Life Imprisonment Hangs in the Balance

In 2012, the U.S. Supreme Court held that life sentences for juveniles who commit homicides can no longer be automatic, though a life sentence may still be imposed.  The Court will now decide if the ruling applies to juveniles sentenced before the Supreme Court’s 2012 decision.  There are currently around 81 cases in Missouri that could be effected by the decision.
