Charges Have Been Dropped on the “Murder Mom” Case

In 2013, Tyrell Davidson was accused of murdering Chauncey Brown, 16, in a drive-by shooting. Two witnesses, James Moore, 16, and Noah Barnes, also 16, were both found dead within months of Brown’s death. Both Moore and Barnes were witnesses to the shooting and it is suspected, Latashia Mopkins, Davidson’s mother conspired with three other males to murder the two witnesses. However, Friday, August 31, 2018, Missouri attorney general dropped said charges on Mopkins and the three other male suspects because the prosecutor’s key witness is unable to testify in trial, battling brain cancer. Spokeswoman for the attorney general’s office stated the state plans to refile charges against the four suspects in Moore and Barnes’ untimely death.
