St. Louis’ annual Mardi Gras celebration brought thousands of partygoers to Soulard and downtown St. Louis this past weekend. Although the celebration went off without any major incidents, the St. Louis City Police Department did make 83 arrests. In a news release by the St. Louis City Police Department, the police reported 67 arrests for minors in possession of alcohol (MIP). The remaining arrests were comprised of peace disturbances, assaults, resisting arrests, indecent exposure, and purse snatching. In addition to these arrests, many individuals were cited for DWI in and out of the downtown St. Louis area while commuting to and from the Mardi Gras celebration.
