Increased DWI Enforcement During Holiday Season

Increased Traffic and DWI Enforcement During Holiday Season

The St. Louis County Police Department recently released a statement informing citizens that it will be increasing its DWI enforcement efforts to stop people from driving impaired during the holiday season as part of the “You Drink, You Drive, You Lose” campaign. St. Louis County residents can expect increased law enforcement presence throughout the month of December. Additionally, St. Louis County Police Highway Safety Unit will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, December 10, 2010.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has also announced its plans to increase enforcement efforts throughout the holiday season. MSHP will be focusing on areas where a high number of drinking-related crashes occur and on areas where drinking and driving is prevalent.

It is important to always exercise extreme caution on the roadways during the Holiday season as a result of poor weather conditions and drinking drivers. If you are cited for a traffic offense or DWI during the holiday season, it is important that you act quickly. If you or a loved one is arrested for DWI, call Henderson & Waterkotte, P.C. to schedule a free consultation today.
